… So , John Kasich and Ted Cruz Team Up [#political alliance]…

Posted by paulfromwloh on Tuesday,April 26th,2016

.. but what do they want to accomplish ?/ …

.. the Donald is picking up steam . He virtually swept New York , and has been heating uphis political act . He acts a great deal more presidential than even Miz Hillary does , and certainly more than Ted Cruz . Also , he is closing the polling margins w. you-know-who as well . So the Donald is far from a lost cause ..

.. [h/t —]..
.. [link] to the blog post ..

.. but John Kasich and Ted Cruz have ” teamed ” up todealwith the Donald . In Indiana , Kasich has effectively withdrawn from the race , ceding the state to Cruz . Out wn from several western states , including Oregon and Washington , giving Kasich a one-on-one shot at Trump . But , will it do any good ??..

.. that is the effective question : will the team – up of Cruz and Kasich help either one of them , or will it backfire ?!?! ..

… the A & E Network has a Helluva Problem on Its Hands …

Posted by paulfromwloh on Sunday,December 22nd,2013

.. the problem is one of their own making , and it is their problem to solve .

.. they knew of the Robertson family ‘ s beliefs . They knew that they were conservative , Christian , and pretty well fundamentalist when they picked up the show in the first place . They have no excuses .

.. Also , G.L.A.A.D. is behaving like a bunch of fascist bullies . They are not the ” Thought Police . ” It is not up to them to decide who appears on T.V. and who does not . They are not any network ‘ s ” Standards & Practices ” division .

.. They also have endangered a profitable franchise that draws quite a bit of attention to their network . The Robertsons have made it quite clear that they will not continue on without Phil , their patriarch …

.. So , what does they do ? …

.. and her new show , the Kelly Files .

.. Ever since I first heard of her (as Megyn Kendall) , she was amazing and dynamic . She was first a lawyer , then a news reporter at ABC . Then , she became FoxNews ‘ legal correspondent , chiefly covering the federal courts in general , and the U.S. Supreme Court , in particular . Eventually , she was moved to the afternoon , given her own show at FoxNews . That was only the beginning .

.. Now she has been promoted into primetime . It will be interesting to see what happens . I do intend to watch and see , most every night  …

… Obama is Going to Reach a Point on ObamaCrapCare …

Posted by paulfromwloh on Friday,September 13th,2013

.. the way that things are going , the idiots in the ObamaCrap Administration are going to reach a point of No Return : they are going to be forced to admit that what they have created will not work .

.. The unions are complaining like hell . The AFL – CIO is realizing that the blowback on the insurance plans is going to hit their members , more than anyone else . Also , the “Cadillac Tax” on the higher – end plans is chiefly going to hit them . The influence that these loons have with the ObamaCraps have is considerable . Whether it will convince the ObamaCrap Administration to go back to the start things all over again is something else .

.. The ObamaCraps do not want to reopen ObamaCrapCare . First , it would be an enormous defeat , one of unimaginable magnitude . They do not control the House , the GOP does , and the concession on OCC would have conservatives in general , and the Tea Party , in particular , licking their chops . Secondly , it would likely lead to the loss of the Senate in 2014 . Many Senators up in that fall ‘ s elections have yes votes on OCC on their records . They also reside in “Red States,” ones in which either John McCain or Mitt Romney (or both) carried their states . The lack of a filibuster – proof majority in the Senate means that the Senate GOP is in the ballgame . A good number of them are likely in position to get even for being “run over” by the DemoCraps during the original OCC debate . Others are new or newer , such as Mike Lee (Ut) , Tim Scott (SC) , and Ted Cruz(Tx) , who are either Tea Party supported , or are Tea Partiers themselves .

.. The GOP would demand a high price for any renegotiation . One point is that the use of H.S.A.s would have to be greatly liberalized . H.S.A.s would put consumers back in the ballgame in terms of economics , and their participation would be anthema to the ObamaCraps . Another point would be medical malpractice tort – reform . The strength of the plaintiff ‘ s bar prevented any action to go after any semblance of tort reform in the original debate . Obama would act as a brake , but the GOP would act to force the plaintiff ‘ s bar to come to the table . There are other items , but these would be the best places to start .

.. The market in health insurance has to be able to work . OCC almost totally prevents it from working . The idiots in Congress have a habit of forgeting that when they pass legislation that there are unintended consequences of the changes that their legislation will make in the law . Some can be foreseen , will the resort to simple logic and foresight . Others cannot , and have to dealt with as best is possible .

… Should We Have Dual Citizenship ?!?! …

Posted by paulfromwloh on Thursday,August 22nd,2013

..Should American citizens be permitted to hold dual citizenship ? One American — and the other in the country of their birth or ethnic origin? Or for that matter, any second country regardless of the reason?

..Mexico allows its citizens to retain Mexican citizenship , even if they become naturalized American citizens. Mexico isn’t alone

either. It is among some 60-plus countries — like the Canada of Cruz’s birth — that do the same.

.. Isn’t it time to abolish the antiquated notion of dual citizenship? A reality that by definition requires a dual loyalty — to America and another Country ?

.. And , if not, then shouldn’t Americans — citizens of the only country in the world built not on an ethnic identity but an idea — have the right to vote in every other country on the globe?

.. The real notion of the “ United Nations ” is not the handful of people with titles . The ones that are crowded into that glass building on the banks of the East River in Manhattan. The real United Nations is in fact our own county , the United States of America. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, as of July 1, 2013, America is the third most populous country in the world, with over 316 million people in its resident population. That population is made up entirely — 100% — of human beings from every other country on Planet Earth.

.. Only America is composed of Iraqis and Iranians, Russians and Poles, Muslims, Jews and Christians, Mexicans and Brazilians, the Irish and the Italians and the Germans and the Japanese and Koreans, Chinese, Cubans, Indians, Pakistanis, and so on and on endlessly. Notably, this conglomeration of races and ethnicities results in the inevitable intermarriages.

.. In a very real sense, America is a nation of mutts. With every race and ethnicity, not to mention religion, marrying every other race, ethnicity and religion. It is extremely common for an average American to have several national identities flowing through his or her bloodstream.

.. Every other country on the globe… is based on nationality.

.. Except America. America alone is based on an idea.

But why focus just on Mexico? Just because Mexico sits on the U.S. southern border is no reason to single it out.

..From “A” for “Albania” to “U” for United Kingdom” some 60 countries play the game the U.S. allows of dual citizenship. This includes countries in Central and South America like El Salvador and Colombia, whose citizens are among those counted in the stream of illegals pouring over the Mexican border. It includes countries friendly — Israel, Britain, France, Switzerland — and countries who are a foe. The most prominent on that list Iran, a place that the U.S. has had poisoned relations with since Jimmy Carter was president.

.. In many of those cases , it is because when one emigrates , one ‘ s native country still considers one to be a citizen . That status is by birth . It is difficult  to imposssible to renounce  it .

..  Then there are those countries — friend and foe alike — that forbid dual citizenship: Japan, North Korea, China, Saudi Arabia among them. It is particularly striking that on this list are countries who maintain some version of ethnic or religious purity in their populations.

.. the real United Nations in this world isn’t in that building on the East River. The real United Nations is America itself. There is, in reality, no such thing as “Native Americans” much less a “native American.” Whether you were born last year in Pittsburgh or are descended from somebody who trudged over an Alaskan land bridge thousands of years ago, once upon a time “America” was empty of human beings. From the moment “Native Americans” began pouring into this empty North American continent thousands of years ago, America has been the magnet for the world’s immigrants.

.. I would say no , but I am not totally sure . Where the status is without birthright , the decision is easy . yes , definitely . When it is conferred by birth , then ? It is h . We can , but the native nation still considers it .

… Let Us See if POTUS is that Dumb …

Posted by paulfromwloh on Sunday,May 12th,2013

speaking at CPAC in Washington D.C. on Februar...

… U. S. Sen Ted Cruz [R – Tx] …

.. POTUS is in Texas on this day , on some bogus new jobs tour . So he is down there in Texas trying to take credit for the success of others .

.. Oh , and he also wants to make Senator Ted Cruz the “ face of the Republican Party . ”

By coming to Texas, the president wants to frame the two poles of our broken   policy debate this way: Obama’s White House (compromise) vs. Cruz-type   Republicans (obstruction). …

Political veteran Bob Van der Plaats, a Christian conservative leader in the   politically important state of Iowa, puts it this way: “What Obama wants to do   is come into Texas and say, look at how great everything is and to take credit   for something that really isn’t his. And without saying it, he’s saying you’ve   got this Sen. Ted Cruz who wants to be the fly in the ointment. Tell him to   fall in line.” (Read More)

.. That is funny , and I hope that it works. I hope he does make Cruz the face of the GOP. Cruz does actually stands for something . He could turn out to be the best thing that’s happened to the GOP since Reagan.

… On the Gang of 8 Immigration Bill , I am undecided …

Posted by paulfromwloh on Wednesday,April 24th,2013

.. but , I am leaning in one direction ..

.. Still , i want to provide cover for both sides of the debate , as best as I can ..

.. While the Gang of Eight’s questionable immigration reform bill continues to be submarined by Conservatives for its lack of specifics and clarity, the Senate Judicial Committee began hearings to try to bring some needed transparency to the bill . ..   .. For those who do not have their eyes glued (falling asleep) to C – SPAN today , Senator Ted Cruz asked Department of Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano , “ If there are no objective metrics , if it is simply the subjective assessment of a host of factors , how can we have any confidence (that the border will be secured) and that any trigger will be meaningful ? ” ..   .. In true Obama-style, Napolitano failed to specifically answer his question . ..

.. to understand , I am including the relevant clip from C-Span , and youtube , from the hearings …

.. This is Senator Cruz ‘ s opinion , from after the hearings ….   .. “ We must have a clear definition of what metrics must be reached in order for the border to be secure. I am not satisfied with answers offered at today’s hearing, as it remains unclear how the provisions in this bill will help achieve a secure border . ..   .. “ As it stands, the border security component – which numbers only 58 pages of the 844-page bill – largely cedes authority to the Department of Homeland Security to determine when and how the border would be secured. However, today’s hearing revealed that the last clear metric for border security – ‘operational control’ – reflected that in 2010, DHS had secured 873 miles of the more than 2,000 mile border. When that metric did not demonstrate success, DHS decided to simply abandon the metric. In order for a metric to be real, it must be meaningful. Currently, there are no objective metrics in place to ensure any triggers in this bill will be meaningful, all while the pathway to citizenship component remains contingent on this undefined border security . ” ..

… DUH , cut the crap , folks !! …

Ted Cruz

U S Sen Ted Cruz [R-Tx]

… I am going to post (thanks to Wikipedia) from the bio on U. S. Senator Ted Cruz [R-Tx] . You will notice towards the end …

Rafael Edward “Ted” Cruz (born December 22, 1970) is an American politician and the junior United States Senator for the state of Texas, in office since 2013. He is a member of the Republican Party.

Cruz was Solicitor General of Texas from 2003 to May 2008, appointed by Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott. He was the first Hispanic Solicitor General in Texas, the youngest Solicitor General in the United States, and had the longest tenure in Texas history. He was formerly a partner at the law firm Morgan, Lewis & Bockius, where he led the firm’s U.S. Supreme Court and national appellate litigation practice.[2]

He previously served as the director of the Office of Policy Planning at the Federal Trade Commission, an Associate Deputy Attorney General at the United States Department of Justice, and as Domestic Policy Advisor to U.S. President George W. Bush on the 2000 Bush-Cheney campaign. In addition, from 2004 to 2009 Cruz was an Adjunct Professor of Law at the University of Texas School of Law in Austin, where he taught U.S. Supreme Court litigation.

Cruz was the Republican nominee for the Senate seat which was vacated by fellow Republican, Kay Bailey Hutchison.[3] On July 31, 2012, he defeated Lieutenant Governor David Dewhurst in the Republican primary runoff, 57–43 percent.[4] Cruz defeated the Democrat Paul Sadler in the general election held on November 6, 2012; he prevailed with 56–41 percent over Sadler.[4] Cruz is endorsed by the Tea Party Movement and the Republican Liberty Caucus.[5]

Early life and education

Cruz was born in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, where his parents, Eleanor Darragh and Rafael Cruz, were working in the oil business.[7][8] His father was a Cuban immigrant to the United States during the Cuban Revolution.[9] His mother was reared in Delaware, in a family of Irish and Italian descent.[8][10] Cruz’s family returned to the U.S. when he was four years old.[9]

… You will notice Ted Cruz is a US Citizen by birth , dummies . He is the son of a naturalized American father , and an American mother . Yes , he was born in Canada (which gives him Canadian citizenship , as well , I believe) , but his situation is similar to that of  any other American born overseas in a foreign nation (such as the dependent born to an American serviceman or servicewoman) , like Sen John McCain , or retired wide receiver (and future Hall of Famer) Hines Ward .
