.. an executive has a great deal of latitude in running their office . That includes the exercise of the veto power . Some states circumscribe this power a bit , but they place the policing power of statewide people in hands other than that of a local yokel …

.. the policing of the conduct of state – wide officials belongs with either an appointed ethics commission , or , much better yet , in the hands of elected official , usually in most states , an attorney general . It should be made part of their responsibilities of their office …

..However , even state AGs should not be allowed to run wild . They can abuse their powers as well . Many DemoCrap AGs have gotten into the habit of collaborating to sue many people in the private sector . AGs have some regulatory power , but only that created by state law . They should not and do not have the power to run wild on their own , especially turning loose private – sector lawyers [ what I call plaintiff bar extortionists] for contingency – fee arrangements …
