.. and that is really scary ..

.. I believe that it will happen .

.. Washington , D.C. is the obvious target , and for the obvious reasons . New York City is another target , given the concentration of the population . Anywhere else ? …

.. [h/t — TruthRevolt]..
.. [link] to the Hugh Hewitt show interview …

.. it literally could be almost anywhere in the country . A major port city [Miami , Norfolk , LA , Seattle , SF , etc..] is another real possibility ..

.. the other real possibility is a major city with a military base . That means San Diego , Honolulu , Tampa / St Pete , Norfolk …

.. Tampa / St. Pete ?? .. Yes . Given the size , the location (central Florida) and the dual nature of the military base [MacDill Air Force Base is also the HQ for CentCom (MiddleEast)] …

.. also , a major commercial target , such as the L.O.O.P. [the Louisiana Offshore Oil Platform] and others …

.. even my home area [greater Cleveland] is possible . It is a chokepoint on the Great Lakes . Also , several major East / West rail lines come thru this area from Chicago and the West , also due to geography …

… It is Time that You Got the Message [Filner]

Posted by paulfromwloh on Monday,August 19th,2013

.. Filthy Bob Filner , It is time that you got the message . It is time for you to go ! not tommorrow . Today . Now ! ..

.. this story from Ed Morrissey at HotAir.com is indicative of how pathetic this situation has become . oh , the city attorney obtaining a court order against Filner ‘ s return : fat chance . He is pond scum of the worst kind , but he is still an elected official . If he had a shred of decency or dignity , he would , could , or should resign . Either that , or , hopefully , the recall election will succeed …

I’d call this breaking news, except that everyone knows this is the end game anyway … or at least, everyone but Bob Filner. With an avalanche of lawsuits and graphic sexual harassment claims becoming public and a recall effort under way, there isn’t much else to mediate except the exit strategy:

Two inside, anonymous sources told Team 10 Mayor Bob Filner’s attorneys were in a mediation session Monday morning with City Attorney Jan Goldsmith and LA-based attorney Gloria Allred.

One of Team 10′s sources said the meeting was scheduled for late morning, with no set end time.

Another source said a retired federal judge is presiding over the mediation, which was designed to include a review of a potential resignation by Filner.

No one knows for sure who’s in the meeting. Two city council members are in the building, and may or may not be participating in the talks, but it’s not clear what other business would be more pressing for San Diego at the moment.

Meanwhile, the petition drive to recall Filner will proceed until events make it unnecessary:

Armed with clipboards and pens, volunteers hit the streets of San Diego to collect signatures they hope will lead to the recall of embattled Mayor Bob Filner.

“We’re going to be everywhere. We’re going to be at sporting events. We’re going to be at street fairs, arts shows — you name it, we will be out there,” Dave McCulloch, a recall organizer, told CNN affiliate KFMB on Sunday.

Filner planned to push back with a public campaign today, at least until the mediation meeting took place. It’s in the same kind of taste that Filner’s conduct exemplified, emphasis mine:

But while recall proponents scrambled to procure more than 101,000 signatures by September 26, Filner supporters planned a “We Will Not Be Silent” rally outside City Hall on Monday.

Wow. Just a tad bit Orwellian, eh? The odds of the pro-Filner campaign succeeding in rehabilitating his image are as slim as they are in good taste:

But the outrage is overwhelming. Roughly 81 percent of city residents want him to resign, according to a poll conducted by CNN affiliate KGTV. Another affiliate, KFMB, reported local radio hosts hired skywriters to spell out “Surrender Bob” over areas of the city last week.

Filner has been adamant so far that he would not resign. However, according to CNN, the city attorney might file a restraining order to keep Filner from returning and continuing the “hostile work environment” his harassment creates. That sounds like a long shot, and a bad precedent to set; any city attorney who has a political agenda could run that kind of attack against a duly-elected executive to run them out of office whether the complaints are legitimate or not. However, the threat of it might be enough to get Filner to resign through mediation, if not the probability of success in the recall effort with those poll numbers.

… It is LawFare , Plain and Simple [on Immigration] …

Posted by paulfromwloh on Sunday,August 11th,2013

.. Lawfare is an unusual term . Most folks are not all that familiar with it . Basically , what it is is using the system to wage legal war against the system itself .

.. It has been done for years . The Anachist Communist Lunatics Union has been at it for decades . Other players are more recent converts to the cause . Take note of this …

What are Those Idiots Thinking ??!?!

.. I am talking about theose idiots at the Depatarment of homeland Security !

.. Amazingly , they are trying their level best on how to not manage the nation ‘ s immigration law . One can support the ideal of the DREAM Act . i am somewhat lukewarm on it . But it is not the job of DHS to grossly misuse and abuse proseuctorial discretion to change the law .

.. Prosecutorial Disccretion is a valued hallmark of our judicial system . We can just not simply attempt to try each and every civil and criminal case . In cannot be done . Different prosecutors have different priorities . However , you make choices , set priorities , and work to make the  system work .  AT least , that is how it is supposed to wrok .

.. However , P.D.  (for short) involves enforcing the law . The entire body of law . Even when you make choices , you are enforcing the body of law (civil and criminal) as a whole . Most of all , you are not trying or ateempting by administrative fiat , to change the law . That act is the province of Congress . The President and his or her administration is charged with enforcing the law . For him or her , it is their duty . For the Presidential Oath is by itself , stated in the Constitution . All other federal officials , including military officers , admin officials , judges , and the Vice President , take the exact same oath . POTUS does not . He (or she) shall take care “that the laws be faithfully executed ” is how it is stated . That discretion does not allow for POTUS (or admin officials , at her or his direction) to change the law by fiat . That is the most obscene and gross misuse of power , and the act of a dictator .

.. What is going on out at the border is a disgrace . This article , from Brietbart Media (Big Government) is a simple example of how things at the border are getting waaay out of hand . It will backfire on them , and spectacularly so ….

KSAZ reports the new tactic could easily overwhelm the immigration system, quoting immigration attorney and former immigration official Pete Nunez:

“To make our system even more ridiculous than it has been in the past,” he adds. “There are no detention facilities for families, so the family would have to be split up. We don’t want to split families up, so we end up releasing people out into the community on bond, on bail.”
Nunez says, “It’s a huge loophole.”

“There has to be a policy change, something implemented, an emergency implementation that will stop this, or otherwise we will have thousands coming in.”

The goal, however, may be to overwhelm the system. This apparent new tactic comes on the heels of widely publicized activism by a group called ‘The Dream 9‘ who also used a claim of asylum to gain re-entry to the country. As leftist organization Colorlines

reported last week:

All nine of the activists have now established credible fear, a step toward an asylum hearing. Supporters are now hoping the Dream 9 will be eligible for parole, which would allow them to return to the United States until their asylum hearing dates.

This connection between the ‘Dream 9’ and the tactic of asylum was made by Spanish-language news source La Opiniòn. They report (translation by Google Translation) in an article entitled

El asilo se volvió un sueño(in English: The asylum becomes a dream):

Following the release of nine Dreamers prisoners in Arizona, after a protest at the border, others have taken the path of asylum as a way to solve their deportation.

Media reports in San Diego are reporting that “hundreds of foreigners are trying to enter the country in the same way” and even that immigrants are being taught to use key phrases that they can stay in the country.

Reports tell of cases in the Port of Entry Otay Mesa, where 199 people have argued a ‘credible fear “to the drug cartels in Mexico.

And the validation of Citizenship and Immigration Service (USCIS) of the status of “credible fear”, which allowed young people to stay at home and return to their families seems to have generated more of a headache for Immigration.

La Opiniòn goes on to quote Marshall Fitz, the immigration policy expert the liberal Center for American Progress, who points out that many would not qualify and it’s not a good ‘long term strategy’ for those attempting to cross the border.

… You can thank Homeland Security for This Idiocy …

Posted by paulfromwloh on Sunday,August 11th,2013

.. news such that from these is outrageous .

.. The drug cartels (in Mexico) present a significant security threat . Not just to the Mexican people , but to the people of the United States . it is without doubt that the cartels have contacts with gangs , with the remains of the Mafia , and other groups throughout our country . However , their effect remains muted , at least in our country .

.. Even so , in Mexico , their country has evolved , and has grown . Mexico has not emerged into the First World , but its time is coming . Its economy is becoming far more diverse , and industrial , as well as service and information – based . It is most definitely not an “oil” economy , not anymore . Even their oil sector is beginning to reform itself . Amazing , by Mexican standards , considering how rife with corruption that Petroleonos Mexicanos (or , PEMEX) has been for decades . It has never gotten as rife with violence and drug gang control as Columbia did a generation ago.

.. However , one cannot discout the drug cartel threat . They are ongoing and continuing threat , on both sides of the border . It most definitely does not justify what is happening right now on the border , especially with the immigration debate that is underway .

.. Homeland Security has created a huge new loophole . Either by its actions , or by its lack of action . There is no excuse for it . None , at all . Period . They are acting as if they are waving “ole” at the border , and allowing a new flood of illegals in . Their actions will backfire . Spectacularly .

… this piece is from KSAZ (Fox–Phoenix,AZ) …

SAN DIEGO –

A loophole is allowing hundreds of immigrants across the Mexico border in to the United States.
Immigrants are being taught to use “key words and phrases” to be allowed to enter and stay in the country.

Just this past Monday, Border Patrol agents say about 200 people came through the Otay Crossing claiming a quote: “credible fear” of the drug cartels.

So many were doing this that they had to close down the processing center and move the overflow by vans to another station.

“They are being told if they come across the border, when they come up to the border and they say certain words, they  will be allowed into the country,” said a person who did not want to be identified on camera.  “We are being overwhelmed.”

Pete Nunez, former U.S. Attorney and immigration expert says, “This will swamp the system.”
Immigrants are telling the Port Enforcement Team — or P.E.T. — that the cartels are ripping apart their state.

There’s no word on whether this same loophole is being used in Arizona.

Sudden Flood of Asylum Requests at U.S./Mexico Border

At the Otay crossing near the San Diego border last Monday, about 200 people coming from Mexico gained entry to the United States all using the same key phrase; they claimed they had a ‘credible fear’ of drug cartels. According to KSAZ FoxPheonix:

So many were doing this that they had to close down the processing center and move the overflow by vans to another station.

“They are being told if they come across the border, when they come up to the border and they say certain words, they  will be allowed into the country,” said a person who did not want to be identified on camera.  “We are being overwhelmed.”

This apparent new shift in tactics to enter the United States comes at a time when the Associated Press is reporting a spike in the number of asylum requests in the past few years:

According draft testimony for USCIS Associate Director Joseph Langlois that was to be submitted for a congressional hearing on asylum requests last month, USCIS received more than 19,119 asylum requests through the end of May. The agency anticipates receiving more than 28,600 by the end of the fiscal year.

According to the testimony, during the 2009 budget year the agency received just 5,369 such requests.

However, this new phenomenon is out of all proportion, even with this spike. To put those numbers in perspective with the 200 people making asylum requests on one day at one border crossing, 200 people a day equals 73,000 people a year — close to three times the total number received all year, at all border crossings.

KSAZ reports the new tactic could easily overwhelm the immigration system, quoting immigration attorney and former immigration official Pete Nunez:

“To make our system even more ridiculous than it has been in the  past,” he adds. “There are no detention facilities for families, so the family would have to be split up. We don’t want to split families up, so we end up releasing people out into the community on bond, on bail.” Nunez says, “It’s a huge loophole.”

“There has to be a policy change, something implemented, an emergency implementation that will stop this, or otherwise we will have thousands coming in.”

… Gee , will Miracles Never Cease …

Posted by paulfromwloh on Saturday,August 10th,2013

.. Sen . Babs Boxer and I agree on something , Filthy Bob Filner [D-SD] should step down from office . She is not the only one. DiFi wants him out . Debbie Wasserman Schultz wants him out . But , anyone else ?

.. Right now , no . Not as of yet . So that you actually believe it , I am going to repost Babs Boxer ‘ s letter (courtesy of the Washington Examiner) …

Dear Bob,

We’ve known each other for a long time, and have worked together on many issues that are important to the people of San Diego – from creating jobs to protecting the environment to helping our veterans.

So I am speaking to you now on a personal and professional level, and asking you to step down as mayor and get the help you need as a private citizen.

I have already said publicly that you should resign your office as mayor because of the shocking revelations by many women about your behavior toward them.

But now I must say this directly to you: Bob, you must resign because you have betrayed the trust of the women you have victimized, the San Diegans you represent and the people you have worked with throughout your decades in public life.

I have worked for so many years to prevent and punish sexual violence and sexual harassment, wherever they occur. As we fight in the Senate to stand up for the men and women in our military who are survivors of sexual assault, I have heard their stories, seen the anguish in their faces, listened to them talk about the pain that will always be with them. Let me be clear: The latest revelations regarding your behavior toward women recovering from sexual assault – women who desperately need our help – have shaken me to my core.

Bob, you have already hurt so many people. To avoid hurting your victims and the people of San Diego more than you already have, you should step down immediately.

Sincerely,

Barbara

… Yea , Ace of Spades , It is How I Read it [Filner] …

Posted by paulfromwloh on Tuesday,July 30th,2013

.. Right now , folks , short of his resignation , the only way to get San Diego Mayor ( and former demoCrap Congresscritter ) Bob Filner is to recall him from office . The only problem : an ally of Filner ‘ s , Stampp Corbin , has taken out the petitions , and has posted the legal notice in the news media . You may wonder , what that means ?

.. Simple . No one else can take out petitions to recall Filner . Unless a judge (who may be a Filner crony) overturns the monkeyshines , the legal clock will run out (for now) on a recall effort .

.. It seems that the City of San Diego has rules for the recall of officeholders that are more stringent that those that are spelled out the the State constitution. The number of signatures is greater , the time perioud is lesser , and then there is the set – off perioud . Once an effort has failed , then six months must elapse before another can be mounted .

.. and an ally of Filner ‘ s is controlleing the recall petitions …
[h/t–SanDiegoGay&LesbianNews(sdgln.com)]

SAN DIEGO — LGBT Weekly publisher Stampp Corbin is being accused of filing a fraudulent recall notice in an effort to keep in office San Diego’s embattled Mayor Bob Filner, who faces multiple allegations of sexual harassment.
Corbin, who has a history of support and close involvement with Filner, surprised the San Diego political world on Thursday, July 25, when he was the first to initiate a recall notice against Filner via a classified ad in the UT San Diego.
According to the UT San Diego:
Publishing a notice starts a 60-day clock for the recall process, though the actual signature-gathering begins three weeks later. From there, 101,597 signatures must gathered within 39 days, with a 30-day extension allowed if needed.
Two days earlier, Corbin had published an opinion piece attacking the credibility of one of Filner’s accusers – his former fiancée Bronwyn Ingram. Some observers questioned Corbin’s motives, considering that Filner had appointed Corbin to a city commission.
By triggering the recall process on July 25, and without much fanfare, Corbin appears to be taking time away from organizers to mount a proper campaign. And it calls into question whether another recall effort led by land-use consultant Michael Pallamary, who has given Filner until today, July 29, to resign or face a recall petition, can now go forward.
In his classified ad, Corbin failed to outline in detail the case against Filner, other than “Accusations of sexual harassment by city worker against Mayor Filner.” To date, six other women outside of city government have come forward and accused Filner of sexual harassment.
Further complicating matters, Corbin has announced that he will not mount a funded campaign with paid campaign staff to collect signatures, and instead will simply make a copy of the petition available to anyone who stops by his office at LGBT Weekly.
Observers say the biggest risk is that Corbin could walk into the City Clerk’s Office any day with a few signatures, and get the petition rejected automatically. Such a rejection by the City would guarantee six extra months in office for Filner, as city rules prohibit filing of recall petitions against a city official if a petition has failed within the past six months.
Evidence against Corbin was circumstantial and speculative until a witness with insider information stepped forward to reveal his true motive, published in Sunday’s UT San Diego.
Susan Jester, head of the Log Cabin Republicans of San Diego County and a longtime political activist, said she had spoken to Corbin several times last week about the recall matter and is convinced that he is playing “Chicago-style politics.”
“He bragged to me that it would be a way to stop the group getting ready to file” their own recall drive, Jester told the UT San Diego. “He said, ‘It occurred to me that it would derail the other group.’”
Corbin denied the accusation when questioned by UT San Diego on Saturday night, but Jester wasn’t buying his explanation. She recalled Corbin telling her this:
“He was expressing a tactic in his mind, how to derail the Filner recall process,” Jester told the newspaper. “I thought at first he was half-joking. But I saw it on his Facebook page. It really infuriates me. We have a right as citizens to file a genuine recall. We have a mayor grossly out of control and ruining our city.”
In a separate piece published on CalWatchdog.com, blogger Chris Reed labels Corbin as a “gay-baiting gay activist” for his efforts to play the gay card against Filner’s opponent in the 2012 election – Carl DeMaio. Reed also labels Corbin’s recall effort as a stunt to thwart a successful recall.
If Corbin is trying to keep Filner in office, he would be doing so in the face of overwhelming opposition to Filner within the LGBT community. On Friday, The San Diego LGBT Community Center’s board of directors went on record demanding Filner’s resignation and the San Diego Democrats for Equality issued the same demand on Thursday, along with the San Diego Democratic Party and the national Democratic Party.
As a matter of full disclosure, SDGLN Publisher Johnathan Hale has a personal relationship with Carl DeMaio.
LEC here , again — You bet that it is a scam . The city charter ‘ s rules are tigher than the state ‘ s for a reason , to make recall efforts a pain in the [bleep] . Also , the scam effort and the legal notice wre meant to screw any other effort to try to take out Filner . I doubt any other one can be mounted , for now , unless the state courts intervene and slapp down Corbin for his fraud .

… Incredible ! Filner has been at this for years …

Posted by paulfromwloh on Monday,July 29th,2013

.. and the demoCraps in D.C. (that means Pelosi & Co) and in CA (that ropes in Henry Waxman & Co) knew about it for YEARS !

.. What i did not know is that Bob Filner was only recently elected Mayor of San Diego . He only recently left the House , once he was elected . And the abuse of people and sexual misconduct goes all the way back to the late 1970s…

[h/t — //voiceofsandiego.org]

The local Democratic Party has known for a long time about sexual harassment allegations against Bob Filner, a former Democratic assemblywoman said in a Thursday interview.

“I blew the whistle on this two years ago to the Democratic Party leadership,” former Assemblywoman Lori Saldaña said.

Saldaña said that in summer 2011 six prominent women in local politics, business and education told her that Filner had physically or verbally harassed them. Saldaña had been exploring what turned out to be an unsuccessful bid for Congress and the conversations came in the context of the 2012 elections.

Saldaña said she contacted former party Chairman Jess Durfee with the allegations and Durfee was among a group of Democratic leaders who met with Filner to discuss them that summer. She said nothing happened.

“As disgraceful as Bob’s behavior has been, it’s been tolerated by our Democratic Party leadership,” she said.

Saldaña said Filner never personally harassed her and declined to say who alleged to have had run-ins with the mayor. She said former City Councilwoman Donna Frye, who is calling for Filner’s resignation over unspecified sexual harassment allegations, inspired her to talk.

Saldaña has a long history of conflict with Filner, most prominently over a failed border sewage treatment project about a decade ago. She also wound up endorsing him for mayor.

Party leaders, she said, made it clear that if people didn’t support Filner they wouldn’t receive their support again.

Durfee, the former party chairman, couldn’t immediately be reached for comment.

Current party Chairwoman Francine Busby released a statement after the allegations broke Wednesday saying she and the party take sexual harassment claims very seriously and that they’re awaiting the mayor’s response.

Update: Former Democratic Party Chairman Jess Durfee confirmed to U-T San Diego that Saldaña complained to him about Filner’s conduct. “He assured me there was nothing to be concerned about,” Durfee told the U-T. Filner also assured Durfee that no one had filed a sexual harassment complaint against him and that he had many female staffers. Durfee also said that he asked the women who spoke with Saldaña to contact him, but none did.

Update II: Busby responded to tell me that party leaders looked at Filner’s 30-year record of advocating for progressive causes when evaluating him as a candidate for mayor. Discussions involving Filner’s poor treatment of women never rose above rumor, she said.

… Therapy is not Enough , “Fellows” , Leave ! …

Posted by paulfromwloh on Friday,July 26th,2013

.. It seems that the “Three Musketeers” have not gotten the hint . Eliot Spitzer is still maintaining his campaign for New York City Comptroller . Why anyone would let some so irresponsible anywhere near the public ‘ s purse is crazy , beyond belief . He is not the only lunatic .

.. Anthony Weiner(snitzel) is still trying to stay in the race for Mayor of New York City . Why he thought that he could run for office in the first place , who knows . His wife ‘ s forgiveness is not enough . A record of responsible behaviour would be helpful . Preferrably in the private sector . Anyone would have to be crazy to let him anywhere near the Mayor ‘ s race , much less the Mayor ‘ s office . Why he decided to stay in the race is anyone ‘ s guess . Humiliating his wife , once again , was not enough .

.. The last musketeer , Bob Filner , a former Congresscritter , and current Mayor of San Diego , just does not seem to get it . He has abused women . He has felt them up . He has kissed them , without their consent . And even worse than that . I am willing to guess that rape or sexual assault is part of his resume . Yet , he will not get the hint , and resign .

.. Guys , it is time to take a loaded hint . Take your flawed charachter , and even more flawed ideas , and even more flawed ambitions , and go . Permanently .

… A Politician is a Serial Sexual Harasser [Bob Filner — SD,CA] …

Posted by paulfromwloh on Friday,July 19th,2013

… can you guess his political party ? …

[big h/t — theOtherMcCain]

It’s time once again to play our favorite game, “Name That Party”!

“God forbid, if you were a single woman he found the least bit attractive. He was relentless and disgusting, and sometimes unforgiving.”

Need a hint? Amanda Marcotte hasn’t said a word about this creep. And no, not on her Twitter feed today, either, that I can tell. But then again, maybe you need some more clues.

A city councilwoman and two lawyers, formerly allies of the mayor, held a press conference to air the charges lodged against Mayor Filner by a variety of women.

Hmmm. What party could this be?

Donna Frye described other specifics about a victim: “He grabbed her, kissed her, jamming his tongue down her throat.” Frye went on to describe another encounter: “The Mayor quickly had his hand down the inside of her bra.”

Gee, maybe this creepy molester should be getting some attention from the media — “War on Women,” and all that — but Mayor Bob “Filthy” Filner is scheduled to give the keynote speech at a benefit for victims of sexual assault, so I guess his heart is in the right place.

And his tongue is down your throat.

And his hand is inside your bra.

… have you guessed yet ? … Huh ?

D – E – M – O – C  – R – A – T .

what else did you expect ?

former House (of Representatives) Democrat .

yea , a former Congresscritter !
