… Red Hot Dope [#the Bergdahl Affair]…

Posted by paulfromwloh on Saturday,June 14th,2014

.. a big thank you to columnist Michelle Malkin , who got the interview with the troopers from Pvt. Bergdahl ‘ s platoon and company . Also , Michelle confirms that Bergdahl did desert , he left his post without warning or notice or reason …

.. [h/t — TruthRevolt]..
.. [link] to the column ..

.. also , these troopers were prepared to shoot Pvt Bergdahl if he gave them any resistance . So , Bowe Bergdahl is lucky that he has come home alive ….

.. from the post : …

The source completes the account by saying this all resulted because “Bergdahl got tired of playing soldier”:

“A few days later, we (FTF) conducted a daylight raid on some tents looking for Bergdahl. We took heavy small arms and RPG fire on approach and ran off the CH-47s in contact. Our entire element engaged the enemy, who turned out to be a Taliban shadow governor and his bodyguards. … Multiple people died that day. … All of this happened because Bergdahl got tired of playing soldier. The remainder of that deployment was focused on recovery efforts. Countless members of the brigade were wounded, and we lost good friends, among them PFC Matthew Martinek and 2LT Darryn Andrews. I have no doubt these great men would be alive if Bergdahl did not leave.”

Malkin clarifies that eight, not six, American soldiers died as a result of Bergdahl’s actions: Andrews, Casillas, Fairbairn, Martinek, PFC Morriss Walker, and Staff Sergeants Clayton Bowen, Kurt Curtiss, and Michael Murphrey.

Malkin also provides her source’s response to the administration’s “incomprehensible” decision to trade “five war criminals for a traitor,” an act he calls “sickening.” He said that while he is glad Bergdahl is safe and with his family, he should not be “hailed as some kind of hero” and “should return home to face a court martial.”

… A Sad Tale [#the hunt for pvt bergdahl]…

Posted by paulfromwloh on Saturday,June 14th,2014

.. this is a link to a favorite media site of mine , Newsbusters …

.. it carries the original story of how Bergdahl ‘ s fellow trooper ‘ s lives and duties were disrupted when he went AWOL … Also , there were at least 8 troopers that died , not 6 as the media has been reporting …

.. [h/t — m.Newsbusters.org]
.. [link] to the column ..

.. the summation of the column is this … this is the most pertinent part ….

.. from Michelle Malkin ‘ s column (the last 2 paragraphs) …

My source did not mince words: “The fact that our government negotiated with terrorists and our enemy is incomprehensible. The fact that they exchanged five war criminals for a traitor is sickening. The worst part for those of us that suffered through that time is that PFC Bergdahl is being hailed as some kind of hero. He was automatically promoted to Specialist and Sergeant, ranks he does not deserve and did not earn. I have no doubt he will receive back pay for these past five years, a substantial sum. There will be book deals, and his family are celebrities. I am glad he is safe, and happy for his family, but he should return home to face a court martial.”

Are you listening, Capitol Hill and America? The Bowe Bergdahl mess isn’t just a story about one deserter, but two. There’s the muddle-headed lowlife who left his post and brothers behind. And there’s the corrupt commander in chief who has jeopardized more American soldiers’ lives to “rescue” Bergdahl by bowing to the Taliban, while snubbing the surviving heroes and the eight dead American soldiers who lost their lives because of him. This cannot stand.

… Just a little “Oops” [voter reg card in CA] …

Posted by paulfromwloh on Saturday,April 5th,2014

.. you might wonder about this ?? …

.. what is the big deal ??

.. [h/t — Twitchy]..
.. [link] to the blunderbuss …

.. believe you me , it is a very big deal . What it is is that people that signed up for ObamaCrapCare in California [on CoveredCalifornia] are being automatically signed up to vote , if they are not already …

.. this is similar to the drill with ” Motor Votor , ” where people who get their driver licenses either new or renewed get themselves authomatically registered to vote … So ?

.. the voter in California is supposed to have no party indicated on the voter registration card . One declares their party affiliation (similart to Ohio) when one wishes to vote in the party primary of one ‘ s choice . They are not supposed to be marked as a ” DemoCrap ” already …. This one was marked , already …

.. wanna bet that it was not the only one ?? …

… Nicely Done , Michelle [Malkin] …

Posted by paulfromwloh on Sunday,February 2nd,2014

.. Michelle Malkin , who is , of course , on my BlogRoll , is terrific . She is a terrific person , an outstanding syndicated columnist [for over 20 years] , and is an entrepreneur . She is also a leader , which she has shown in the case of the idiotic and  [bleep]inine behaviour of pMSNBC over the biracial child actress in the Cheerios Super Bowl Ad , entitled , ” Gracie . ”

.. Cheerios has had the family running as part of an ad campaign over the last 2 years , but suprisingly stopped the ads a couple of months ago . Now , all of a sudden , they are back . So , what does pMSNBC do ?

.. Something colossaly stupid , insensitive , and racist .

.. this is , roughly , a copy of the tweet that ran on pMSNBC ‘ s twitter account the other night …

Maybe the rightwing will hate it, but everyone else will go awww: the adorable new #Cheerios ad w/ biracial family. on.msnbc.com/1dPgQEU
(@msnbc) January 30, 2014

.. Snide and stupid , to say the least ..

.. Michelle did a terrific job of rallying conservatives , both on her own site , Michelle Malkin , and on her twitter – based site , Twitchy . Boy , oh boy , did she ever …

… Being an American is a Matter of Heart and Mind …

Posted by paulfromwloh on Monday,July 15th,2013

LEC here — I came across this on National Review the other day . Michelle Malkin is a superb columnist , and I feel in this debate over immigration that our society has lost a fair part of its sense of itself . Just going with legalization and the other proposed moves does not make one an American . There is more to being an American than that . Things such as coommunity , dignity , decency , virtue , faith , and others .

That is why I want to repost micheelle ‘ s colomn on my blog . I have been following her columns on and off for almost 20 yerass , and she is one of the best in the business .

= = = =     = = = =

As we celebrate our nation’s 237th birthday, a crucial facet of American life has all but vanished. We have forsaken the observance, in

any systematic and deliberate public manner, of one of our most fundamental duties: fostering civic virtue in each and every one of our citizens.

What does it mean to be an American? Politicians in both parties keep pushing to create a new “path to citizenship” for millions of illegal aliens. But if sovereignty and self-preservation still matter in Washington, citizenship must be guarded ferociously against those who would exploit and devalue it at every electoral whim.

The pavers of the amnesty pathway think illusory requirements of paying piddling “fines” and back taxes will inculcate an adequate sense of responsibility and ownership in the American way. Other fair-weather friends of patriotism satisfy themselves with shallow holiday pop quizzes on American history to fulfill the “well-informed” part of the “well-informed citizenry” mandate of our Founding Fathers.

But Thomas Jefferson said it well: “No government can continue good but under the control of the people; and . . . their minds are to be informed by education what is right and what wrong; to be encouraged in habits of virtue and to be deterred from those of vice. . . . These are the inculcations necessary to render the people a sure basis for the structure and order of government.”

John Adams said it better: “Liberty can no more exist without virtue . . . than the body can live and move without a soul.”

And Thomas Paine said it best: “When we are planning for posterity, we ought to remember that virtue is not hereditary.”

Civic virtue cannot be purchased with token gestures or passed down in perfect form like a complete set of family china. A life of honor, honesty, integrity, self-improvement, and self-discipline is something you strive ever to attain.

Being American is a habit of mind, but also a habit of heart and soul. Abraham Lincoln spoke of the “electric cord in that Declaration that links the hearts of patriotic and liberty-loving men together, that will link those patriotic hearts as long as the love of freedom exists in the minds of men throughout the world.”

Calvin Coolidge, profiled in Why Coolidge Matters, a terrific new book by Charles C. Johnson, echoed the Founding Fathers’ emphasis on virtue, restraint, and work ethic. “If people can’t support themselves,” he concluded, “we’ll have to give up self-government.”

The failure of public schools to impart even rudimentary knowledge of self-government principles, natural-rights theory, and the rule of law is compounded by the suicidal abandonment of civic education. As Stanford University education professor William Damon notes: “Our disregard of civic and moral virtue as an educational priority is having a tangible effect on the attitudes, understanding, and behavior of large portions of the youth population in the United States today.”

Add militant identity politics, a cancerous welfare state, entitled dependence, and tens of millions of unassimilated immigrants to the heap, and you have a toxic recipe for what Damon calls “societal decadence — literally, a ‘falling away,’ from the Latin decadere.” Civilizations that disdain virtue die.

Independence Day fireworks will light the skies overhead this July 4th, but George Washington’s “sacred fire of liberty” belongs in the breasts of Americans every day of the year.

How to rescue citizenship and civic virtue?

Let’s start by sending a message to politicians in the nation’s capital who imperil our sovereignty.

Citizenship — good citizenship — is not just a piece of government-issued paper.

It is not merely a bureaucratic “status.” It’s a lifelong practice and propagation of founding principles. A nation of low information is just half the problem. A nation of low character cannot long remain a free nation.
