… I Do Not Think So , Ari [#Press Coverage]…

Posted by paulfromwloh on Monday,April 14th,2014

.. former Bush Press Secretary Ari Fleischer seems to think that POTUS and Holder are getting the same treatment from the press that he and Bush did ..

.. [h/t — RealClearPolitics]..
.. [link] to the video statement …

.. I disagree , to be honest . The ObamaCraps have been getting it off easy from the most part from the Press Corpse . The LameStream Press acts as if it acts like it were a corpse …. if they gave them the same kind of crap that they dished out to Bush and Fleishcer , Holder would have been long gone .

.. the pressure from the LameStreamers would have been withering . There would have been at least one or more independent counsels on the job investigating major ObamaCrap scandals that are crying out for investigation and for justice ….

.. guess what , Jay ?

.. you got caught .

.. when Ed Henry of FoxNews caught you lying through your teeth , more than once , you tried to hem , haw , yammer , and spin your way out of it . But , Ed would not let you do that . He nailed your sorry butt to the wall , and the rest of the White House Press Corpse was enjoying itself , watching you suffer …

In Epic Briefing Rumble, Jay Carney Challenges Fox News’ Ed Henry to a Crossfire

If things keep going this way, they’ll have to start calling it the White House Beefing Room. At Thursday’s daily briefing, a combative Fox News Chief White House Correspondent Ed Henry met an equally combative White House Press Secretary Jay Carney in rhetorical combat over the economy, and the ongoing Republican effort to leverage the debt ceiling.
Things escalated quickly to Carney challenging Henry to an eventual Crossfire debate. This is the second time he has made such a reference to Henry this month, but the first one was a good deal more friendly.

Henry began by asking Carney about the Fed’s decision to continue its efforts to stimulate the economy, and what that says about the economy. “Is that not an indictment of the President’s policies, since he’s had five years now?” Henry asked.

LEC here again — on Crossfire , not likely , you idiot . Ed Henry works for Fox News Channel , or haven ‘ t you noticed , you stupid fool ?!?! Crossfire is a CNN show , and I doubt he would appear on it unless CNN said “ please , pretty please , with sugar on top , please …. ”

… Stupid [Another Jay Carney Classic screw – up] …

Posted by paulfromwloh on Tuesday,September 17th,2013

.. all White House Press Secretaries have made blunders . Hopefully , they do not make big ones . There are times that those big ones may well get someone fired , or worse , someone else killed . The pressure on those who do this job is unique , and quite intense . So , a screw – up once in a while is understandible …

.. However , Jay Carney is a first – class royal screwup . A screw – up ‘ s screwup . Considering his distinguised (at least fairly) as a

newswriter and investigative journalist , principally at Time Magazine , you figured he would have been much better prepared . Especially , considering who he is married to (ABC and former CNN corresponder Claire Shipman) .

.. Boy , was today a bad day for JayBoy . You have to see this to believe it , but I will throw in the text in advance , so that you all will know what is coming …

ED HENRY: You mentioned at the top about the shooting and the president offered his thoughts and prayers and he pushed back his statement to allow the D.C. mayor and the police chief to talk about what they said was an active manhunt. There may be other shooters, they weren’t sure. They didn’t have all the facts, etc.

Why then did the president go ahead with what became a series of attacks on Republicans about the health care law, about, you know, the debt-ceiling fight, etc? Tonally, did it not seem a little bit off in the middle of this manhunt, people being informed about lives lost to move forward with an attack on the other side?

JAY CARNEY: Well, Ed, I think he addressed at the top of his speech about the five-year anniversary [of the 2008 financial crisis] and the need to make sure that we as a nation do not make mistakes, we as Washington do not make mistakes and, you know, reverse the progress that we have achieved. And I think that’s an important thing for the president to talk about. It’s an important thing for Congress to talk about and act on. And it’s entirely appropriate, today, for the president to talk about that.

We face, as the president noted, some looming deadlines. Congress needs to act. It has some very clear top-line responsibilities. Fund the government, pass bills that pay for the activities of the United States government. They insisted on a process whereby budgets were passed in the Senate and the House and now Republicans have blocked the process of reconciliation. They insisted on a process where the president would put forward his proposals that included compromise on things like entitlements. The president has done that. We’ve yet to see a counter-offer many, many, many months later.

So, time is short. We need to address these challenges. It is also true that we have an unfolding situation here in Washington with regards to the violent action and shootings and it’s entirely appropriate for the president to address that at the top of his remarks.

White House press secretary Jay Carney reiterated President Obama’s desire to pass gun control…
White House press secretary Jay Carney reiterated President Obama’s desire to pass gun control legislation, though he sounded cautious about appearing to use the Navy Yard shooting to political advantage.

“[I]t is far too early to say anything about who did this and the broader meaning of it,” Carney told reporters, per a live transcription. “When it comes to common sense legislation to reduce gun violence, the president has been very clear,” Carney added, recalling Obama’s frustration with congressional leaders who voted down a gun proposal in March.

The comments came under repeated questioning from American Urban Radio’s April Ryan.

“That was a shame and we will continue to work to take action to improve gun safety, to reduce gun violence in this country through executive action and, hopefully, Congress will work to reduce gun violence as well,” he said.

Ryan pressed him about gun control in a follow-up. “Jay, you say it’s far too early, and I understand that, but we do know for a fact that these were shooting deaths, and going down that seven: Fort Hood, Binghamton, Tuscon, Aurora, Oak Creek, Newtown, and the Navy Yard now.”

“And countless other deaths, as you know April, countless other deaths, and this is why we should take action to reduce gun violence, we should take common sense action supported by Americans from every part of the country,” Carney replied.

… Ha!Ha! A High Schooler makes a fool …

.. out of White House Press Secretary Jay Carney .

.. Nice one Tucker Carlson (the impressario of the Daily Caller) ! …

[h/t — Matt Puple , TAS , and Tucker Carlson , the Daily Caller ] [link here]

When I first heard that a high schooler had asked Jay Carney a question at yesterday’s White House press conference, I figured David Gregory was filling in for Chuck Todd.

But no. Apparently an actual high schooler – an intern for the Daily Caller named Gabe Finger – was unexpectedly called on by Carney:

English: Jay Carney giving a press briefing.

English: Jay Carney giving a press briefing. (Photo credit: Wikipedia)

Daily Caller founder Tucker Carlson is having a blast attacking these people and defending Finger’s question, which he says was substantive. He’s right, and it’s a shame that it was, because a substance-free question asked by a high schooler and then dodged by Jay Carney would be the perfect distillation of the modern White House press conference. For years now, White House reporters have been herded into a pen to ask often-silly questions, only to have even their most vacuous inquiries go unanswered by the immovable Carney, and Robert Gibbs before him. The entire affair has become a masquerade, with everyone playing their part and no one ever learning anything, mined for drama by Washington publications like Politico and fastidiously ignored everywhere else in the country. A quick scan of yesterday’s transcript finds Carney back-slapping Harry Reid in his first answer, referring a reporter to the DOJ in his second (Carney spends a lot of time referring reporters to the DOJ), and giving press-release statements about Syria in his third and fourth. It’s this proud tradition to which Gabe Finger has brought shame.

… The Sergeant Schultz Act …

Posted by paulfromwloh on Wednesday,May 15th,2013

What are these people thinking ? More importantly , what the H-E-L-L are they doing ?

.. for the unitiated , Sergeant Schultz was a popular and funny charachter on the 1960s tv show “Hogans Heroes . ” It was a comedy about Allied prisoners in Nazi Germany prisoner – of – war camp , except in their case , they were operatives , running other Allied POWs to freedom through their operation , and back .

.. Schultz was an idiot senior camp guard , whose signature lines were .. “I know nothing  , nothing , absolutely nothing . ” A rough akin to “Hear no evil , see no evil , speak no evil , do no evil , ” don ‘ t you think ?

.. Basically , Jay Carney and his bosses are acting like Schultzes , thinking that we will accept their lame , weak , and corrupted explanations . We may be many things , but we are not idiots . Thankfully , it appears that the patience of  the LameStreamMedia is finally wearing thin .

.. And , the knuckleheads at the ObamaCrap White House are finally really feeling the heat of public pressure . It is about damn time .

… the Disgrace of Benghazi …

Posted by paulfromwloh on Saturday,May 11th,2013

.. It is absolutely clear , now , beyond a doubt , that something very , very wrong happened at the Benghazi mission on September 11th and 12th , 2012 . It still is a battle , though , to find out exactly what happened . Also , to act to bring to account the guilty parties , and hold them responsible for their actions .

.. the Benghazi hearings have come and gone , and Barack Obama and the Democrats turn now to stuffing charge and

Official photographic portrait of US President...

… guess who ?? …

countercharge . The lies the president and his men and (mostly) women told in the days after the great betrayal must be swept from sight. Can’t everybody shut up?

.. The Dems are getting a great deal of help from the usual help in the LameStreamMedia  . Amazingly , so , now , that is beginning to change . They do not want to be awakened until it is all over ,  and it is o.k to go on to  more exciting things, like budget hearings, elections in Lower Slobbovia and the environmental whine of the day.

.. Jay Carney , the president ‘ s press agent , repeated the official White House view Wednesday that it’s all “politics.” Which it is , but not in the way that he wants everyone to think it is. “Politics” is to Washington what “sex” is to a bordello; what would you expect to find in either place? Benghazi is not politics , but criminal incompetence and even worse .
.. The House hearings on Wednesday produced no smoking gun , as of yet , but a hell of  a lot of smoke , to employ another popular capital cliché . It added heartbreaking detail to the astonishing story of a smoking consulate , and how the lives of an American diplomat and  three of his colleagues were weighed by a cynical White House against the requirements of a close-fought presidential campaign. A political campaign once lost is done and gone .

.. Gregory Hicks, the No. 2 man in the American embassy in Tripoli, gave riveting detail about how the ambassador was left twisting slowly , slowly in the poisonous smoke of the burning consulate. American special operations teams were then enraged when they were told they could not fly in to the rescue. It was too far, senior officials said, and the rescuers would get there too late . Yea , but how would they know .

.. There was no point in trying; the embassy would send an inspection team after breakfast the following morning. The rescue teams were “furious,” Mr. Hicks testified , and could not understand why they were told to stand down. “None of us should ever
have to experience what we went through in Tripoli and Benghazi,” he said.

.. These riveting details would have given the lie to the campaign assurances of President Obama that everything was OK in the

Middle East, that he had personally destroyed al Qaeda. The war on terror was over. It was back to “re-setting” relations with a warmer, friendlier Islam. No one understood  this better than the campaign mavens at the White House, for whom the only national security concerns were to get  their man a second term. Nothing did and nobody else mattered .

.. This is a very different White House than any the country ever had before. We have left Americans to die before, when there was no alternative. The defenders at Wake Island and Corregidor were left to the tender mercies of the enemy, but no president before this one left Americans to die, begging for help, just to save an election. Benghazi was a brutal betrayal, writ large with the blood of innocents. The perfidy of the guiltywill not be forgotten.

…Ouch , but it is true …

Posted by paulfromwloh on Friday,October 12th,2012

… and on point ! …

… the attack on our consulate in Benghazi , Libya was a terrorist attack . It was from the first , and the Obama Administration knew it . Worse yet , they LIED about it …

… We are owed the god ‘  s honest truth about what it was , what happened , and for the ObamaCraps to cut out the unadulterated bull …

… The simplest way to put it : was put by a columnist . I am reposting his column (from National Review) because he is an  excellent wordsmith . He is not a particular favourite of mine . He is good , and I do read him on a regular basis , however …

People Died, Obama Lied

An anonymous State Department official told the Associated Press last Tuesday: “That was not our conclusion” — namely, that a notorious YouTube video that lampooned the Islamic prophet Mohammed unleashed deadly mayhem upon America’s consulate in Benghazi, Libya.

This denial should shock anyone who watched the news after U.S. ambassador J. Christopher Stevens, Foreign Service officer Sean Smith, and former Navy SEALs Glen Doherty and Tyrone Woods were murdered on the eleventh anniversary of September 11. That anti-Islamic video’s culpability certainly was the “conclusion” among top administration officials, including President Obama. They fingered the video for eight days, even as evidence mounted that these Americans were slain in a commando-style operation that involved machine guns and mortar shells, not banners and placards.

As Fox News Channel’s Bret Baier and Bill O’Reilly each detailed on Wednesday, Team Obama energetically promoted this now-repudiated “conclusion.”

September 11: Despite anti-video demonstrations in Cairo, Benghazi is tranquil. According to diplomats, “everything is calm. There’s nothing unusual. There has been nothing unusual during the day at all outside. No protests all day.”

At 9:40 p.m. local time, however, gunfire and explosions rock the consulate’s front gate.

September 12: As these homicides become clear, President Obama says, “We reject all efforts to denigrate the religious beliefs of others, but there is absolutely no justification to this type of senseless violence. None.” Obama then skips his daily intelligence briefing and jets to a Las Vegas fundraiser.

September 13: “The United States government had absolutely nothing to do with this video,” Secretary of State Clinton declares. “We absolutely reject its content and message.” Repeated efforts to distance the U.S. government from the video actually publicize it. Paradoxically, it grows increasingly toxic.

September 14: “We have no information to suggest that it was a pre-planned attack,” White House press secretary Jay Carney announces. “The unrest we’ve seen around the region has been in reaction to a video that Muslims, many Muslims find offensive.”

That day, as the murdered Americans’ remains reach Andrews Air Force Base, Clinton says: “We have seen rage and violence directed at American embassies over an awful Internet video that we had nothing to do with. It is hard for the American people to make sense of that because it is senseless.”

September 16: United Nations ambassador Susan Rice tells Fox News Sunday that “this was not a pre-planned, premeditated attack.” She calls it “a spontaneous reaction to what had just transpired in Cairo as a consequence of the video.”

September 18: “You had a video released by somebody who lives here, sort of a shadowy character, who has an extremely offensive video directed at Mohammed and Islam,” President Obama tells comedian David Letterman. Obama adds that “extremists and terrorists used this as an excuse to attack a variety of embassies including the consulate in Libya.”

September 19: Team Obama abruptly changes tune. National Counterterrorism director Matthew Olsen informs the Senate Homeland Security Committee, “I would say yes, they were killed in the course of the terrorist attack on our embassy.”

September 20: “It’s self-evident that what happened in Benghazi was a terrorist attack,” Carney announces. Somehow, this self-evidence had eluded the public.

Why would Team Obama essentially accuse a video of these murders, even as Lieutenant Colonel Andrew Wood — leader of a 16-man, dedicated military unit withdrawn from Libya last August — called the hit “instantly recognizable” as terrorism?

During President Obama’s difficult campaign, that fantasy was far more palatable than this reality: A premeditated, well-executed al-Qaeda strike on a U.S. mission eradicated four Americans, even after they longed for the security assistance that might have prevented them from coming home in caskets.

Ambassador Stevens warned Washington that Libya “remains unpredictable, volatile, and violent.”

Eric Nordstrom, a former U.S. security officer in Libya, told the House Government Reform and Oversight Committee on Wednesday that State documented 230 security incidents in Libya between June 2011 and July 2012. Nordstrom consequently requested twelve more security personnel.

“‘You are asking for the sun, moon and the stars,’” Nordstrom says a State Department regional director complained. Nordstrom then describes his greatest frustration in this assignment.

“It is not the hardships,” Nordstrom says. “It is not the gunfire. It is not the threats. It is dealing and fighting against the people, programs, and personnel who are supposed to be supporting me.” As he told that regional director, “For me the Taliban is on the inside of the building.”

Nordstrom ultimately concluded that “we were not going to get resources until the aftermath of an incident. And the question that we would ask is again, ‘How thin does the ice need to get until someone falls through?’”

These inconvenient truths would have obviated Team Obama’s “bin Laden is dead, al-Qaeda is comatose” reelection theme. Thus, the same government that apparently leaks secrets to make the president look tough evidently oozed falsehoods to keep him from looking weak.

In short: People died, Obama lied.
