… A BiPartisan Bill is Dangerous [Iran Nuclear Sanctions] …

Posted by paulfromwloh on Saturday,December 21st,2013

.. Why , may you ask ?

.. with good reasons :

[-] a truly bipartisan bill will attract much more support from the senior levels of both parties , ..
[-] a bill with that much support will make it as an amendment onto any relevant bill , ..
[-] that support will put Dingy Harry Reid in a spot ; he will have to let the bill come to the floor , ..
[-] it will put POTUS in an impossible situation ; he will want to veto the bill , but the votes will be there to override , and by plenty , ..
[-] such a bill will piss off Iran , and give it the excuse it needs to walk away from the so – called nuclear talks in Geneva , Switzerland .

.. I support the bill . The Iran nuclear deal is an obscene joke ; It does not slow down Iran ‘ s nuclear program one bit . The ObamaCraps have issued a veto threat , but , I hope , someone in there is telling His Lordship that the votes are there , or will be there by plenty to pass the bill in both Houses of Congress by veto – proof margins .

… What is He Referring To [Senator Sessions] ?? …

Posted by paulfromwloh on Wednesday,December 18th,2013

.. Senator Jeff Sessions [R – Al] has turned into one hell of a senator .

.. He has made it into the G.O.P. leadership . He is the ranking member of (I believe) the Budget Committee . He may well also be the ranking member of the Judiciary Committee . Not bad . He was once a judicial nominee to the federal District Court by Ronaldus Magnus [Reagan] , and his nomination was filibustered (and thence stopped) by the DemoCraps . This happened to a fine man , one who would have made a fine judge . However , he would go on to bigger and better things …

.. Once Howell Heflin announced his retirement , Sessions sought his seat , and won it .

.. [h/t —] ..

.. [link] to the a/v

.. Sessions made an appearance on the Mark Levin radio show . What he was referring to was a provision in the recent Budget agreement , one that only applies to the Senate . It was one that the DemoCraps , I think , wanted dearly .

.. It changes Senate rules , temporarily . For purposes of the current environoment , it allows only 50 votes to waive provisons of the upcoming Budget Act for spending [but , not for tax cuts , i will bet] .

… Excellent Point , George Will [the Nuclear Option] …

Posted by paulfromwloh on Friday,November 22nd,2013

.. this clip [link] is from the panel discussion on Thursday night ‘ s “Special Report with Bret Baier . ”

.. Will nails it just about on the head . The geniuses that forced through this change may not realize that it sets a very politically ” gruesome ” precedent . ObamaCrapCare was originally passed under what is known as ” reconciliation . ” Reconciliation requires the adoption of a budget resolution by both Houses of Congress . This rules change , carried to its ultimate extent , will allow the repeal of ObamaCrapCare with a regular bill , without ” reconciliation .”

… Big Shot [News Editorials , on ObamaCrapCare] …

Posted by paulfromwloh on Monday,November 18th,2013

.. when it is small – town newspapers calling for repeal and replacement of ObamaCrapCare , that is one thing , but …

.. when it is the editorial pages of the Chicago Tribune [link1] , and the Las Vegas Review – Tribune [link2] ?

.. that is something else . The Tribune is , of course , the largest newspaper in the Tribune newspapers chain , and is the largest newspaper in Chicago , Illinois , the home of POTUS . The Las Vegas Review – Journal is , by far , the largest newspaper in the state of Nevada , as well as Clark County , and the city of Las Vegas . Las Vegas is , of course , the seat of power of Dingy Harry Reid the (for now) Majority Leader of the U.S. Senate .

.. That these two papers are ringing the bells of these two jokers is not insignificant . Obama will never be on a political ballot , again . Right now , Dingy Harry is likely to retire when he is up again . Reid will have a gigantic target on his back , by then be the Senate Minority Leader , and have more than one well – financed opponent . A primary opponent for Dingy Harry (from either the right , or from the left) cannot be ruled out . Things could get very hot , indeed for the Dingy One .

.. Here are some snipets of both editorials …

… from the Chicago Tribune …

the headline is enough … Stop Digging . Start Over .

… from the Las Vegas Review – Journal …

Congressional Democrats can’t run away from this mess fast enough, as evidenced by the number of partisans proposing or supporting legislation to let individuals keep their current plans — which led to the president’s Hail Mary on Thursday. At this point, however, it’s impossible to fix that broken promise. The insurance industry, which has spent all year entirely remodeling plans to become Obamacare compliant, can’t turn it all back around in just 45 days and is furious with being scapegoated into trying to do so. An industry insider told, “This doesn’t change anything other than force insurers to be the political flak jackets for the administration.”

Said Karen Ignagni, president of America’s Health Insurance Plans: “Changing the rules after health plans have already met the requirements of the law could destabilize the market and result in higher premiums for consumers.”

As the guys in those Guinness commercials would say, “Brilliant!” Obamacare policy premiums in many cases were already going to cost significantly more money; this “fix” could cause even bigger increases. The law is so deeply flawed, with so many components in direct conflict with one another, that tweaking just one part will accelerate its collapse.

The Obamacare debacle is just getting started — and it only gets worse from here. Repeal and replace.

… No Kidding , Chris [FNC on Shutdown] …

Posted by paulfromwloh on Sunday,October 6th,2013

Although President Barack Obama has said that negotiating over the debt ceiling would be unprecedented, Fox News Sunday host Chris Wallace isn’t buying it.

[link] — video to the piece …

“The White House keeps saying, the president says this has never happened before, we’ve never had a negotiation on the debt

limit,” Wallace told POLITICO for this week’s “Turn the Table” series. “That’s bull. It just isn’t true.”
“They’ve had negotiations over the debt limit sometimes on related budget issues, sometimes on completely unrelated issues for years.”

“When you look at the dynamics of what’s going on inside the Republican caucus, I don’t think they’re there yet and ready to give anything up. And if you go out and listen to the public words of Sen. Reid and the president, there’s no give there either.”

… Sick Bastard [ Dingy Harry Reid on the Shutdown ] …

Reid: ‘Why Would We Want To’ Help One Kid With Cancer ?

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D., Nev.) asked why Senate Democrats would want to fund the National Institutes of Health

to “help one child who has cancer” Wednesday when asked that question by CNN reporter Dana Bash.

DANA BASH: You all talked about children with cancer unable to go to clinical trials. The House is presumably going to pass a bill that funds at least the NIH. Given what you’ve said, will you at least pass that? And if not, aren’t you playing the same political games that Republicans are?

HARRY REID: Listen, Sen. Durbin explained that very well, and he did it here, did it on the floor earlier, as did Sen. Schumer. What right did they have to pick and choose what part of government is going to be funded? It’s obvious what’s going on here. You talk about reckless and irresponsible. Wow. What this is all about is Obamacare. They are obsessed. I don’t know what other word I can use. They’re obsessed with this Obamacare. It’s working now and it will continue to work and people will love it more than they do now by far. So they have no right to pick and choose.

BASH: But if you can help one child who has cancer, why wouldn’t you do it?

REID: Why would we want to do that? I have 1,100 people at Nellis Air Force base that are sitting home. They have a few problems of their own. This is — to have someone of your intelligence to suggest such a thing maybe means you’re irresponsible and reckless –

BASH: I’m just asking a question.

LEC here again — Big Oops ! Nice going , Dummy ! …

What an arrogant , boorish ass ! Mitch McConnell is , by comparison , a decent and honourable gentleman . Hopefully , soon , McConnell will be the Majority Leader , and then good ol ‘ Dingy  Harry will be reduced to the role of whimpering idiot as the not – so – Minority Leader …

… So , POTUS will negotiate with Putin …

Posted by paulfromwloh on Sunday,September 22nd,2013

.. but , not with Congress ?

[link] — this ad issued by the GOP points that out …

.. Sorry , POTUS , it is not how our system of government works . POTUS stands for President , not for First Dictator . The DemoCraps do not control Crapitol Hill . The GOP is the majority in the House . And the Dems are scared to death of taking tough votes in the Senate , and Dingy Harry Reid knows it .

.. It is a strong possibility that the DemoCraps will lose control of the Senate next fall . They do not want to expose their vulnerable members to tough votes , no matter what the subject . Dingy Harry will try to protect his membership , but if he cannot control them , or protect them , he has big problems .

… Oh , You Said that ObamaCrapCare Would not lead to Single – Payer ? …

Posted by paulfromwloh on Monday,August 12th,2013

from the Washington Examiner : …

..NPR’s Steve Inskeep pressed for more clarity. “Can you say flat out it’s just never going to be single-payer health insurance and we’re going to try to write it if we can so that it won’t ever be?” he asked.

..“Oh, I think – I think that’s very much the case,” Sebelius replied. “And again, if you want anybody to convince people of that, talk to the single-payer proponents, who are furious that the single payer idea is not part of the discussion.”

.. That’s not true , according to “Dingy Harry ” Reid. “What we’ve done with Obamacare is have a step in the right direction, but we’re far from having something that’s going to work forever,” he said on “Nevada Week in Review” on Friday evening, before saying that the United States needs to develop a single-payer plan. “Yes, yes. Absolutely, yes.”

.. It figures . She is a notorious liar . And , good ol ‘ Dingy Harry is worse . The “public option” that those numb – nuts wanted to include is basically a single – payer health care system . The only payer would be the government itself . All private transactions in health insurance and health would be , as I would think , be banned or outlawed . Good luck trying that in this country .

.. ObamaCrapCare is already on the verge of collapse . Costs are soaring . People realized that they have been defrauded , and have been sold a false bill of goods , a colossal stinker of epic proportions .

.. The dummies on Crapitol Hill keep on forgetting some basic laws , such as : [-] the law of supply and demand ; add on more requirements , and keep on cutting reimbursements to doctors , pharmacists , and hospitals , and you will send costs into orbit ; [-] the law of unintended consequences — all sorts of changes are occuring that those dummies never though of , or anticipated ; and [-] the law of human nature — nice one , dummies — decades of cost controls are blowing up in all of our faces .

Anyone surprised that Democrats envision Obamacare morphing into single payer hasn’t been listening to what Democrats have been saying.

The collapse of the private insurance market under Obamacare isn’t a bug, it’s a feature.

But you would have known that if you had been reading Legal Insurrection in the summer of 2009, including Deception and Tyranny Key To Health Care Reform:

The only way the Obama administration and Democrats can force through the types of changes they envision for the health care system is through deception and tyranny.

… Dingy Harry should Resign …

Posted by paulfromwloh on Saturday,August 10th,2013

.. that , of course , is Senate DemoCrap leader “Dingy Harry” Reid . Good ‘ ol Dingy has stepped into it , big time , this time . His libeling and slandering of the GOP as racist is far below and beyond the pale .

.. The editorial page of the Washington Examiner puts it best …
Last week, it was Harry Reid telling his Senate colleagues to “sit down and shut up.” Not so long ago, it was the Senate Majority Leader playing the part of Joe McCarthy by sliming Mitt Romney with slanderous, never-documented suggestions that the Republican presidential nominee was a tax evader. These are only a couple of recent examples of the Nevada senator’s increasingly cranky querulousness.

Now it’s Reid outrageously suggesting that President Obama’s Republican critics disagree with him because he is black. Reid’s blatant attempt to cultivate racial division came during a radio interview when he said he hopes Republican criticism of the president is “based on substance and not the fact that he’s African-American.”

Just as patriotism is said to be the last refuge of scoundrels, Reid’s offensive remarks suggest the last refuge of Washington Democrats is playing the race card. Reid is certainly not the first Washington Democrat to do so, but his latest comment certainly ranks among the most vile.

As Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC) said, “Our country deserves more from those in Washington. I hope Senator Reid will realize the offensive nature of his remarks and apologize to those who disagree with the President’s policies because of one thing — they are hurting hardworking American families.”

Scott, the first African-American to represent South Carolina in the Senate since Reconstruction, is being too diplomatic. In the name of civility, it’s time for Reid to retire and go home to Search Light, Nev.

being interviewed on a Nevada radio show , for opposing POTUS ‘ policies because he was a black man . Big Oops !

.. It seems ol ‘ Dingy Harry forgot the only current black member of the U.S. Senate is a Republican : Tim Scott of South Carolina . Scott is a religious man , a quiet man , and a local businessman , when not busy with politics .
Scott let him have it , in both the Washington Examiner , and in the Daily Caller .

.. Bravo , and thank you .

… Dingy Harry , You are an Ass !! …

Posted by paulfromwloh on Friday,August 9th,2013

.. seems like ol ‘ Dingy Harry (Senate DemoCrap Leader Harry Reid) was on a radio program in Nevada , earlier this afternoon . Oh Boy , did he stick his foot in his mouth . As Usual ! ..

.. Good ol ‘ Dingy Boy commented on Republican opposition ( in general ) , and Senate Republican opposition (in particular) to POTUS ‘ policies . He said that he hoped “that their opposition is based on policy , and not on the President ‘ s race . ” Huge Oops !

.. You Stupid jackhole . Only an arrogrant and pompous ass would make such boorish and racist comments as those . Republican opposition is most definitely based on policy , you [bleeping] [bleep]hole . No , it is not race – based . Only you and your arrogance and racism are race — based , you stupid jerk ! ..

… Dingy Harry , take Your Own Advice … Sit Down and Shut Up …

Posted by paulfromwloh on Thursday,August 1st,2013

.. Harry Reid , a.k.a. Dingy Harry , has become one of the most reviled senators in the history of the United States Senate .

.. Some Senate leaders have rules the chamber with an iron fist . Even then , they would allow the Senate process to work it will , and allow individual Senators to take actions , even ones that were not popular with their own party leaders . Dingy Harry does not . He gums up the works , forcing the chamber to proceed with business only in the way that he wants , and no one else ‘ s opinion matters worth a damn . Even senators of his own party get run over in the process .

[h/t– the Washington Examiner] …

As Senate heads towards its August recess, tempers are getting short.

As Sen. Susan Collins, R-Maine, began to speak on the Senate floor about an appropriations bill, it was clear that other senators were milling about and talking after a previous vote.

Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., stepped in, asking the presiding Sen. Tammy Baldwin, D-Wis. “Madam president, have senators sit down and shut up, okay? It’s unfair. Sen. Collins has something to say. It’s just not polite.”

It’s been a tense few weeks for senators on both sides of the aisle. The the implementation of the filibuster-busting “nuclear option” was only narrowly avoided through bipartisan compromise. And on Wednesday, President Obama’s pick to lead the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Fire Arms and Explosives, Todd Jones, advanced only after Democrats pressured Sen. Lisa Murkoswki, R-Alaska, to change her vote and then held the vote open for hours so Democratic Sen. Heidi Heitkamp could fly back from North Dakota to cast the 60th and final vote.

… the U.S. Senate , try a Loonie Bin …

Posted by paulfromwloh on Thursday,July 11th,2013

[h/t — the OtherMcCain]

.. As far-fetched as that scenario may seem, no one in 1965 ever imagined that claims of “discrimination” and “sexual harassment” — and the fear of such claims — would result in the situation now so widespread, where lawsuits and threats of lawsuits are a sort of constant threat of blackmail, where disgruntled employees make complaints knowing full well that companies are reluctant to go to court to defend against such claims. Instead, nine times out of 10, the complaining employee is given what’s informally called “go away money,” a settlement usually equivalent to a year’s salary, just so the company can rid itself of the legal nuisance.

.. Oh, and guess what happens to your insurance premiums when “non-discrimination” means that you must hire transsexuals and cover the cost of their surgery and other treatments?

.. People who shrug their shoulders about ENDA and other such nonsense, or who hesitate to denounce it because they don’t want to seem prejudiced, have no idea how all this talk about “fairness” and equality” actually operates, once it becomes law and people start getting sued or fired over flimsy claims of “discrimination.”

… Does Dingy Harry have a Death Wish ?!?! …

Posted by paulfromwloh on Thursday,May 23rd,2013

.. Harry Reid has a notoriously unpleasant and pugnacious personality . Well , part of it comes , no doubt , from the fact that he was an amateur boxer . He seems to be still playing the part , especially in politics .

.. All or nothing . The problem is , if you want to get anything done in the United States Senate , it requires a great deal of give and take . With Reid , when you deal with him , it is all give to him , no give to you . The Senate does not work that way .

.. The way that things are going , things are headed for a showdown . More accurately , a gigantic slowdown . Things move slowly

Harry Reid (D-NV), United States Senator from ...

Harry Reid (D-NV), United States Senator from Nevada and Majority Leader of the United States Senate (Photo credit: Wikipedia)

enough , as it is . It is due primarily to Reid ‘ s power plays and manipulation of the system and the rules .

.. Now , he thinks that he can change the rules , with only a majority vote . Un – Uh ! The Standing Rules of the Senate specify that it take a 2/3rds majority of ALL senators present (i.e. , 67 of 100) to enact a change in the rules . Not a 3/5ths majority . Most of all , not a simple majority of 50+1 (w. Vice-President Biden , if needed , in the chair) .

.. What he is aiming at is the filibuster rule . The G.O.P. and a fair number of Democrats have mounted constant filibusters , in counter to Reid ‘ s manipulation of the legislative rules . It also stretches to nominations , especially judicial ones , when there is no , repeat NO consultation at all with the minority . Really dumb idea .

.. On Tuesday, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid pushed back a vote to confirm Richard Cordray until July. President Obama recess appointed Cordray to head the new Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and needs to be permanently confirmed by the Senate. Senate GOP have blocked confirmation until serious reform of the over-arching new agency is undertaken. The delay in the vote suggests Reid is setting up a summer fight on eliminating the filibuster for Presidential nominations.

.. A Senate Democrat aide told The Huffington Post that the “plan is to wait until immigration is complete before engaging in total all-out nom[ination] fight.” A July fight over nominations would come, presumably, after immigration but before the budget battles expected this fall.

.. On Wednesday, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell angrily denounced the potential move. “These continued threats to use the nuclear option point to the Majority’s own culture of intimidation here in the Senate,” McConnell said.

.. “Their view is that you had better confirm the people we want, when we want them, or we’ll break the rules of the Senate to change the rules so you can’t stop us. So much for respecting the rights of the minority. So much for a meaningful application of Advice and Consent.”

.. Reid has threatened the so-called “nuclear option” to eliminate the filibuster several times in the past. The issue has returned after a DC Circuit Court found Obama’s recess appointments to the National Labor Relations Board were unconstitutional, as Congress was not in recess. The Court threw out all rulings made while these appointees served on the Board.

.. Cordray was appointed at the same time, casting doubt on whether actions taken by his agency under his direction would be legal.

.. Be careful what you wish for , Dingy Harry . Your move would also establish a precedent , however . Future Republican Presidents would also be able to win approval of their nominees with a simple majority vote . The DemoCraps may want to be careful what they wish for.

… is Dingy Harry nuts ?!?! …

Posted by paulfromwloh on Friday,November 2nd,2012

Harry Reid ,  of all people , is supremely arrogant , or he is totally insane . He has been quoted as saying he and his democratic caucus will do everything in their power to stop Mitt Romney and his agenda , if he is elected . Maybe he needs a 72 hr hold in a mental hospital for a thorough exam of his gray matter and his schmartz . More than likely , he is an extraordinarily arrogant ass . Why wave a red flag in front of  a bull , 96 hrs out , and give him even more motivation than he and she have already …

… earth to Dingy Harry , the election is Tuesday . Duh ! … … No one has been elected yet , stupid ! … Nevada has , like other states , early voting , and it is a competitive tossup state . It is , in theory , leaning to President Obama ,  and POTUS is going to need all the help that he can get . the Nevada GOP is going to want revenge for 2010 , and his dirty tricks that he and the unions pulled in his own re – election campaign . and now , you piss us off even more ? Real Stupid , dumbass ! … also , Dingy Harry , you are assuming that you will and your fellow Dems will be in the majority . Considering that you have 23 seats to defend , and the 2 toughest GOP seats to defend are likely to be defended well , you will have a tough time  hanging on to your job , especially with a dumb – dumb stunt like this ! …
