.. it will be very interesting to see how the Black Community in general reacts . Somehow I do not think or feel that the average Black voter cares all that much for these nuts . They may not like the GOP all that much , either , but they also are a great deal more moderate and conservative than the older generations . So the door is effectively now open to the GOP . Hopefully the GOP will be wise enough to seize the opportunity …

.. originally , I thought that this race was a goner . Evan Bayh running for his old Senate seat would make for a difficult contest . However , this one has become a real race ..
.. Relatively unknown GOP Congressman Todd Young has taken up the cudgel to run against Bayh . Now he has a real chance of winning ..
.. Young has caught up to Bayh , only trailing by 3 points . It has taken a lot of effort and lifting [and $$] , but it is now a fight worth making ..

.. I think that the Israelis should tell the Administration [the OCs] to go to hell ..
.. not only should Israel tell the OCs to kiss their A## , so should Congress ..
.. Congress pays the bills , the OCs do not . Congress should not cede one of its primary prerogatives to another branch , not now , not ever !! ..

.. back to the Israelis . they should also tell the OCs to go [bleep] themselves . They have the OCs by the balls . They still have significant DemoCrap support in the U.S ., no matter who controls Congress . They also have virtull unanimous GOP support on Captiol Hill . So if they want more aid , they can get it ,anytime .. and they can use it at home [in Israel] if need be ..

.. given the Silver State ‘ s politics ?? …
.. the DemoCraps are likely to lose the seat . It will make it one seat that much harder for the DemoCraps to potentially regain a Senate majority . Especially when their own leader decides to retire and give up the ghost …

.. two chief candidates come to mind . One is the current Governor , Brian Sandoval . He is reluctant to run , but he can probably be persuaded . Another is state AG Adam Laxalt . Laxalt is the grandson of former Senator and Ronald Reagan confidante Paul Laxalt . So the GOP bench is in pretty good shape …
.. the Dems ‘ bench is not . they have a paucity of candidates , and Reid ‘ s own son Rory is severely damaged goods . So , they do not have very much hope of holding the seat ..
.. also , it makes Nevada ripe for the picking in the Presidential election . Without Reid , the Dems in Nevada are in very sorry shape . A presidential campaign team can only help so much . So the GOP should be able to pick up Nevada ‘ s 6 electoral votes …

.. you are the Democraps party . You want to engender turnout in your caucuses & primaries . You know that it is a harbinger , potentially , of possible turnout in November ..
..well , you have a big problem ..
.. when His Lordship was on the ballot , the turnout for the Democraps was fairly good . Even so , Obama ‘s total votes fell by over 4 million between 2008 and 2012 ..
.. then there was 2010 and 2014 ..

.. Disasterville . No Obama . Very Big Problem . The DemoCraps got blown out not once , but twice . in 2010 , the Dems lost the House . Badly . In 2014 , the GOP added the Senate to the tally pad ..
.. not only that , folks . the GOP Soared in Governors , going from 22 to 31. In the state legislatures , the toll was even more drastic . The Dems have lost , net , between the two blowouts , more than 1,100 state legislative seats , and via that , control of more than 24 state legislative chambers ..

.. you wonder why ?? …
.. in the GOP ‘ s case , they simply do not trust him .
.. they want him to ” step up to the plate ” and make the case for the AUMF [war declaration] . The problem is that Obama will not do it . He wants something wishy – washy , one that greatly ties the hands of a Commander – in – Chief . Real bad idea …

.. Earl Ray who ? ..
.. he is the current Governor of West Virginia .

.. yes , it does represent political failure of the GOP to get the job done . Simple , the full government budget is not done yet . A C.R. , or continuing resolution , needs to be passed in order to aid in finishing the work of Congress in passing the other bills ..
.. but using reconciliation also represents another signal : the Nuclear Option . The DemoCraps would have nobody to blame but themselves if Mitch McConnell decides to pull this option ..
.. [h/t — HotAir.com]..
.. [link] to the blog post ..
.. the DemoCraps started it in 2014 . They knew that they were likely to lose the US Senate majority . The only question is by how much ? The Dems wanted to jam the appointed boards and judiciary with as many ObamaCraps as possible . Dingy Harry Reid himself pulled the trigger , and has now set the precedent with this . Now it is time for payback ..

.. the GOP passed a budget resolution in both Houses . They also reconciled it , and repassed it ..
.. in US Budget – speak , that means what is known as ” Reconciliation ” is available to be used . Not a big surprise . The other one is what it represents ..
.. [h/t — HotAir.com]..

.. the Recon bill [for short] can be used to pass the spending bill [in this case , the CR , or Continuing Resolution] with only 51 votes . It thus avoids a filibuster , and allows the GOP to force the spending bill to go to POTUS ‘ desk to either sign or veto ..

.. Martha McSally is winning in Arizona ..

.. David Webb is a hero of mine .
.. he had the guts to get back in the face of those nutjobs in the North Carolina chapter of the N.A.A.L.C.P. . They were having a protest march , entitled ” Moral Monday , ” this week in Raleigh against the new majority of the GOP in the state . To me , it sounds like these guys were behaving like a bunch of crybabies …
.. their furher , Reverend William Barber , has been in the news of late for shooting off his mouth at black Republicans in general , and US Senator Tim Scott [R-SC] , in particular . Barber has called Scott a “ventriliquist ‘ s dummy ” for standing up for what he believes in in the conservative and Tea Party agenda . No , the national N.A.A.L.C.P. is not slapping Barber down for his antics , either …

.. you need 60 votes in the Senate to invoke what is known as ” cloture ” to move legislation forward . It generally needs this amount in order to forstall any possible threat of a filibuster . So far , there has not been one , as of yet .
.. The problem is that the DummyCraps forgot how to count . You need 50 votes (+ VP Biden , if needed to break a tie) to pass a bill . The Democratic leadership assumed that they would pick up a couple of GOP votes to pass the bill , also assuming that they would lose some of their own people . They just did not think that they would lose very many people . They were wrong .
.. Big Oops . Both of them . Nice going on the assumptions , tricky Dick Durbin (the Senate Majority Whip , for now) . He is supposed to know how to count to either 60 or 50 . Durbin generally does not admit that he is short of the mark , unless he really is . Doing it in public on a Sunday show [wrap up] is probably his way of creating some form of pressure on the GOP to produce some votes . Evidently , they are short of the mark .
.. Nice going , dummies …

.. you already have a big enough credibility problem as it is .
.. News Item : the Republican party is opposed to ObamaCrapCare . It always has been . When the original bill was being considered , what was the response of the Administration and the DemoCraps ? The DummyCraps did not want any opposition suggestions . They ignored the GOP suggestions , poo – pooed them , and tossed them aside , as if they did not matter , not one whit . So , when you get supercharged opposition to the implementation of ObamaCrapCare , what did you expect ? Nothing ? You got what you should have expected . Full scale and vehement and unswerving opposition . Duhhhh !! ..
.. If an opposition party is completely and totally opposed to your policy , they will do what anyone would expect . O – P – P – O -S – I – T – I – O – N . So what else did you expect ? Contributions to the cause ? No thanks . Especially when you dismiss suggestions for improvements out of hand .

.. Ken Cuccinelli ran a crappy early race , got out – fundraised , and out – hustled . Yet , he was still in the race . He locked in
Ken Cuccinelli (R) (Photo credit: Wikipedia)
on a “winning” message . Unfortunately , not soon enough . He ran out of time to bring the race home .
.. It does not mean that Ken Cuccinelli does not have a future . He most definitely does have one . He just has to do it differently , next time . Also , he needs to jump on things right out of the box , next time .
.. McAuliffe will do damage . A pretty fair bit of damage . But only so much . A chief executive can do a lot , but only so much . Especially in a state where the GOP controls the Virginia Supreme Court , and the Virginia House [the House of Delegates , that is] . The GOP has overwhelming control of the House of Delegates , by nearly 61 seats , to 39 . Ouch .
.. The DummyCraps technically control the Virginia Senate . the state Senate is tied 20-20 , but the tie is broken by the tie – breaking vote of the Lietenant – Governor , who will soon be a loonie leftie . The GOP should strike , and reach out to 1 or more of the moderate dems while the irons are hot . The sooner the strike , the better .
.. In the next mid – term elections , courtesy of redistricting , the GOP is likely to pick up anywhere from 3 to 4 , to as many as 5 seats in the Virginia Senate . What happens after that , is anyone ‘ s guess …

.. I am referring to , of course , are U.S. Senators Mitch McConnell and Rand Paul , from Kentucky . It will not just be one of them . It will be both of them , working together .
.. Paul is a leader of the Tea Party wing of the GOP . McConnell is , of course , the Minority Leader of the United States Senate . If
English: Official photo cropped of United States Senator and Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) (Photo credit: Wikipedia)
McConnell ever again wants to be the Majority Leader , it is in his interest to work with Paul and get the support of the mass of the conservatives in a budget negotiation . Paul is a natural bridge to the House conservatives , many of whom , like him , owe their support , and possibly their elections , to the support of the Tea Party . McConnell knows both Biden and Obama . Once negotiations are able to begin , it is likely to happen through Biden and McConnell . But passage is another thing entirely .
.. Rand Paul may well want to be President of the United States . He has a very effective base of support within the GOP , but he knows that to have an effective chance at winning the election , he needs the support , or , at least , the acquiecence of the Republican estabilishment . The Establishment may not be wild about Rand Paul , but they are not stupid . The Establishment may not be able to stop Paul (who is an ppthamologist) from becoming the nominee , but they might be able to from becoming POTUS , especially if they stay home .
.. the Republican Establishment is moderate turf . They carry critical party support (also $$) in the suburbs and other GOP – leaning areas . The GOP has the South , Texas , and the Great Plains locked up . Oregon is in play . So are many other states , such as Michigan , Pennsylvania , Wisconsin , and Ohio . To carry those , Paul will need the help of the Establishment to win a General Election . Making a critical budget deal , and , nominally , helping the GOP work to win the political battle with an unpopular POTUS will not be easy . The chits that he can earn , as well as the gravitas he will gain from the effort , will be of enormous help .
Official portrait of United States Senator Rand Paul (R-KY). (Photo credit: Wikipedia)
.. Rand Paul is a choir boy . Literally . It is very highly unlikely that there are “skeletons” in his closet . So , he has a leg up on many of his potential rivals . He does not carry his father ‘ s space cadet reputation and the accompanying political baggage . If he proves to be an effective candidate , and can , with his father ‘ s (dr Ron Paul’s) help , carry along his father ‘ s base of support , he can win the GOP nomination , and , after that , the Presidential election .
.. First things first . the GOP cannot realistically eliminate ObamaCrapCare . Not now . The way things are starting out , O.C.C. is off to a horrible start . It may well collapse of its own weight . Delaying the individual mandate is probably the best that be achieved , right now . If the GOP makes significant gains , and regains the Senate majority , there will be hell to pay for the left . POTUS will be effectively neuteured . But , first things first . winning the political battle …

.. but , not with Congress ?
[link] — this ad issued by the GOP points that out …
.. Sorry , POTUS , it is not how our system of government works . POTUS stands for President , not for First Dictator . The DemoCraps do not control Crapitol Hill . The GOP is the majority in the House . And the Dems are scared to death of taking tough votes in the Senate , and Dingy Harry Reid knows it .
.. It is a strong possibility that the DemoCraps will lose control of the Senate next fall . They do not want to expose their vulnerable members to tough votes , no matter what the subject . Dingy Harry will try to protect his membership , but if he cannot control them , or protect them , he has big problems .

.. At least , in 2014 , there is likely to be good news on the political front . Falling poll ratings and the perceptions of weakness in POTUS mean that there is going to be a limit to what he may well be able to get from the Hill . The continuing falling of the economy , while bad for POTUS , is probably going to be better news for the GOP .
.. The GOP may well want to repeal ObamaCrapCare . They will try , but they will keep the government open . POTUS will try to play games , and possibly try to pull off a temporary government shutdown . Considering his ego , and his big mouth , his tactic will backfire . At least , the sequester should likely remain in place , and continue to increase in amount . If the GOP plays its cards right in the debt limit fight , it may well get some added budget cuts . Possible , maybe even probable , but not necessarily definite .
.. The Dems are in deep trouble . They have a deeply unpopular President tied around their collective necks , and they know it . They may want to regain control of the House , but they should forget it . They are going to get hammered on the economy , and any and all kinks in O.C.C. are going to get blamed on them , not the GOP .
.. Obama ‘ s sliding poll ratings make things incredibly difficult for the Dems . Pelosi is an incompentent twit . She is stuck (permanently) in fantasyland . Thankfully , even if lightening struck , and the DemoCraps regained control of the House , she would not be Speaker . Thank God , that is not going to happen . At best , the DemoCraps will gain a few seats . If the elections were held now , they would get blown out again , and lose more than a dozen or more seats . The real danger for them is the Senate .
.. The Dems are in deep , deep trouble in the Senate . Important members of the Dem caucus (Carl Levin , Jay Rockefeller , and Max Baucus) are retiring , and in 3 of the 4 cases , the seats are likely to fall to the GOP . The GOP candidate recruitment this time around , so far , is far better , and the knucklehead factor is being held down . Other narrowly won seats , such as AK and AR are in deep trouble , and are also likely to fall to the GOP . Mary Landrieux is one of the few Dems running in Red States that has a decent chance of holding on . The political dynamic in Louisiana has changed quite a bit , as one can see by the political switch by State Senator Elbert Guillory (R-La) .
.. Blacks will still vote Democratic , but in not quite such large numbers . There is quite a bit of disappointment in the Black Community over Obama and his lack of production , and the historical factor is passing from the scene . It does not mean that Blacks will change sides all of a sudden , but a change of even a couple of percentage points will make a big , big difference .
.. What might shock people is if there is even a bigger break than that . It is more likely to happen , slowly , in the Jewish community . The demographics of conservative and orthodox Jews is in the GOP ‘ s favour , but it will take time . The Latino community is more promising . Latinos have much more in common with the GOP than they do with the DemoCraps . It will take time , effort , and expense , but Latinos can and will listen to reason . Latinos do value their vote and their citizenship , since , for them , it was much harder for them to gain access to it and achieve it . They will not come over easy , but the demagogery of the DemoCraps will wear off over time .
.. Congress is not a lot better . At least , control of the U.S. Senate is likely to shift , either in 2014 (with the DemoCraps getting their butts kicked) , or in 2016 (when all of the Dems are swept out of the Door , and adult attention and leadership in the person of the GOP returns to town . In the interim , the change in the Senate will mean a fair bit of substantial change in tax policy . Orrin Hatch is a conservative ‘ s conservative , and is likely to be a dynamic leader of the Senate Finance Committee . It will also let POTUS know that there will be no more tax increases coming out of Crapitol Hill .
POTUS may want them , but by then , he will know that he will not get them .
.. Also , 2014 will see an increase in GOP govenors . Not much , but there will be a differeent cast of characters at the state level . The GOP is likely to see a marked increase in state legislators , as well as a takeover of control of a number of state legislative chambers . It will also make some fair progress in some surprising Blue states , likely including Illinois .

.. and , yes you will …
.. POTUS is an arrogant bastard . He thinks that he can dictate terms of debate , as well as the terms of the bill that will reach his desk . It could not be further from the truth than that , that is for sure …
[-] the Senate — the GOP has 45 members . Unlike Illinois , where the GOP was a bunch of mindnumbed robots , the D.C. crowd is one of a different ilk . Just ask Dingy Harry Reid . Any deal will have problems passing , because Dingy Harry ‘ s power will start to ebb , once the cats realize he will not be the boss of the corral after next November …
[-] the House — any bill has to be passed by a majority of the majority . Boehner can do the math . He also knows that the GOP is likely to strengthen its numbers , and with the uproar over the Tea Party targeting , you can bet there will be more of them in the next Congress . POTUS will just love that . He will also have to accept the fact that he will have to negotiate , whether he likes it or not …
[-] the financial markets — they are not going to be wild about this , that is sure . However , with a weak President , the GOP is going to press what advantages it has for whatever it can get . it also does not have to worry about an “automatic” tax increase burrowed into things , like the last time ..
[-] the Fed Chairman — the markets are going to be far more worried about who the next Fed Chairman (or , Chairwoman) will be . They have to be concerned about the possibility that the inflation genie could get out of the bottle . They would prefer an inflationary hard – case as the chair . The House is out of it on this , but not the Senate . The 45 GOP members , plus the nervous Dems up next year can and will push POTUS to appoint one . Since Larry Summers has evidently withdrawn from consideration , do not expect Janet Yellen to get the nod , either . She is an inflation dove , one that the markets will not like . Obama is pigheaded and arrogant , but , hopefully , not that stupid . A short bear market will likely kill off Yellen .
[-] Mitch McConnell — He is likely to be the chief deal – maker . He is usually pretty good at math , and he will know what can pass , and at what price .
[-] taxes — No tax increases will pass , with either GOP caucus , no matter how much POTUS wants them . The last time , the GOP had an automatic one scheduled in pressuring them . Not this time . Tax cuts , unfortunately , not likely , either . POTUS will want higher rates & / or tax monies as part of any deal , and unless he gets a “bath of cold water” and grows up , there will not be any change in taxes or rates .
[-] Max Baucus — He is the chair of the Senate Finance Cmte , and can be very unpredictable . Baucus is a wild card , since he is retiring , and the GOP is likely to grab his seat , Tim Johnson ‘ s [SD] , and Jay Rockefeller [WV] . That is half of the GOP ‘ s battle . Mark Pryor in Ar is likely a “dead man walking” and Mary Landrieux in LA will try her best , but will likely have trouble holding on .

.. POTUS is in Texas on this day , on some bogus new jobs tour . So he is down there in Texas trying to take credit for the success of others .
.. Oh , and he also wants to make Senator Ted Cruz the “ face of the Republican Party . ”

.. That is funny , and I hope that it works. I hope he does make Cruz the face of the GOP. Cruz does actually stands for something . He could turn out to be the best thing that’s happened to the GOP since Reagan.
