… It is Only a Beginning [#Puerto Rico][#financial control board]…

Posted by paulfromwloh on Sunday,May 29th,2016

.. yes , it is only a beginning . At least both parties are taking Puerto Rico ‘ s problems seriously ..

.. but , ultimately , it is the commonwealth itself that has to govern itself and manage its finances in a proper manner ..

.. default is obviously not an option . Public services are ending . Schools are closing . Bankruptcy is not likely an option , either . Sharp spending cuts will have to be shared by all , including pensioners ..

.. the spectres of both fallouts will get folks ‘ attention . Whether it will get the attention of Puerto Rico ‘ s political establishment is another matter ..

… there will be a Bailout of Insurance Companies …

Posted by paulfromwloh on Thursday,December 26th,2013

.. and it will burn the DemoCraps badly ..

.. you may wonder : how ? and why ? It is already written into the ObamaCrapCare bill . The feature in question is what is called ” risk corridors . ” Basically , if the insurance companies take on excessive amounts of risk , they will be compensated for it . It is in the law , already .

.. [h/t — http://DailyCaller.com%5D
.. [link] to the article and video clip …

.. Boy , does that stink . The insurers got into bed with the ObamaCraps on this bill , and got a provision like this placed into the bill . it covers their financial backsides , so that they will not lose excessive amounts of money . They may not make much , though , but they will not lose their shirts , either . What is worse is that the C.B.O. ” scored ” this feature as having no net financial effect on the bill . Are you kidding ?

.. It will not have a net effect on the insurers . They will be contractually covered for any losses outside certain ” boundaries , ” or the ” risk corridors . ” Guess who it will screw , and badly ? Yep , the taxpayer , and Big Time ! Nice one , DemoCraps . You have given more ” bulletin board ” material to the G.O.P. . Duuuh !

.. the Insurance business does not come without risk . It is the way the thing operates . Well , it is the way it is supposed to operate . If an insurer misprices its risks , or does not invest its premiums well enough to smooth things out , well …. . It is supposed to go out of business , or at least go bankrupt , so someone else can take over its market and business . Those idiots got into bed with His Lordship and the rest of the Dems , so that they could protect themselves . Now , they look like a bunch of ” errand boys ” for POTUS and for H.H.S. . See what happens .

.. Those dummies may end up losing their shirts , anyway . Serves them right !

.. It may not have much effect at first , at least in 2014 . It will in 2015 , and become an anchor around the necks of the Dems in the 2016 Presidential campaign . An expensive one , at that …

… Bailout == Bankruptcy !! …

Posted by paulfromwloh on Wednesday,January 30th,2013

… the funds are the d.i.p. stick (debtor in possession) for the bailout to work … for a bankruptcy to work , the company in bankruptcy needs financing to be able to continue in business . normally , it would get it from the banks . However , in the Auto Bailout , GM & Chrysler got the d.i.p. (the bailout)
from the federales . Why ?

… A couple of reasons , perhaps …[-] the banking crisis did not help . the Obamacrats had their jackboots on the throats of the banks ,

[-] the enormous amount of the funding . a couple of hundred million to a billion dollars is one thing , the bailout funding is something else ,

[-]the deficits the federal government was running . $1 trillion deficits will definitely crowd out the private market for credit …,and

[-] politics … POtus was paying off his political buddies (the UAW) by saving their jobs and their retirement funds …

… the Constitutional Court

Posted by paulfromwloh on Monday,July 16th,2012

… no , folks , not our U S Supreme Court …

… the German Constitutional Court .

… whatever may happen in Europe will likely start in Germany with their highest court . Why ? a number of their constitutional law professors have challenged the bailouts , as well as the mechanisms that the national governments have been using . and the demand keeps growing . and , they do need Germany , with its deep pockets …

… however , they may not have it . If their court says no , in full , or in part , Germany will effectively be out of the bailout business . I think that this court may well say no , at least in part …

… in Germany , especially , given its recent history (who can forget ,  and no one should) , they need to stick to their rule of law more than anyone , and avoid legal finesse …

… but , the consequences for Germany , Europe , the EU , and for everyone else may be telling ….
